JOB SUMMARY



CARE Nigeria is seeking a talented intern to help us amplify our impact and inspire change. S/he will support the implementation of CARE Nigeria's communication strategies and knowledge management processes in the Maiduguri office; assist in creating impactful communication materials; documenting lessons learned; and ensuring effective dissemination of project outcomes to internal and external audiences. This will provide an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communication and knowledge management within a leading humanitarian organization; access to mentorship and professional development/support; and exposure to CARE International's network and potential career pathways.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:



Job Responsibility #1: Communication Support 




  • Develop and edit content for newsletters, reports, social media, and other communication materials.

  • Capture and document success stories, case studies, and human-interest stories from project activities.

  • Assist in producing visual content, including photos and videos, ensuring they align with CARE's branding and communication guidelines.

  • Support the organization of media events, workshops, and campaigns



Job Responsibility #2: Knowledge Management




  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and storing project data and resources to facilitate easy access and sharing.

  • Contribute to the preparation of knowledge products such as reports, manuals, and presentations.

  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and innovations from CARE Nigeria's projects in the region.

  • Ensure proper archiving and retrieval of communication and knowledge materials.



Job Responsibility #3: Monitoring and Reporting




  • Track and report on the reach and impact of communication and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual communication and knowledge management reports. 



Job Responsibility #4: Operational Support   




  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure communication and knowledge management goals align with project objectives.

  • Provide administrative support to the Communication and Knowledge Management team as needed.



Resource Mobilization:




  • Contribute to CARE’s resource mobilization efforts.



Support all other initiative/tasks as assigned



QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL SKILLS:



Required:




  • Recently completed a degree in Communication, Journalism, Development Studies, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Proficiency in graphic design, video editing, or photography tools is an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and dynamic team environment.

  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and development sector is a plus.
