Role Summary:
The Technical Sales Engineer will be expected to develop the designated Flooring, Sealing & Bonding Target market, and Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Vertical Markets within the building and refurbishment sector. Focus to include other construction chemicals systems should they be required. Grow both Target Market and Vertical Market into a profitable and sustainable stream of income.
General Responsibilities
- Generate leads, Identify new business opportunities, products or market niches.
- Manage process of establishing a sustainable customer base, account management, product supply, technical support and customer relations.
- Conduct training on Sealing & Bonding to internal and external customers, provide customers with technical support for Sealing and Bonding systems within the Sika portfolio.
- Primary responsibility for product trial demonstrations and other product activations in the market
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
- Present, promote and sell products using solid technical arguments to existing and prospective customer.
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
- Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
- Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
- Continuously improve through feedback
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining a permanent journey plan to cover all customers within focus
- Coordinate collection of payments and timely delivery of product in good condition
- Provide all necessary information to sales administration to ensure timely and accurate invoicing of customers
- Monthly business review & working capital diagnostics with customers
Qualifications
- BSc/HND in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Tech. or related field.
- 5+ years cognate experience
- Hands on experience of the construction industry and built-up environment
- ERP experience in CRM & Sales Force
- Knowledge of Micro & Macro Economic metrics
