Job Summary
- The Logistics Planning & Control Manager is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the planning, scheduling, and execution of all logistics operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. This role involves managing inventory levels, overseeing transportation processes, and implementing strategies to streamline logistics operations while ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the logistics plan, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
- Optimize transportation routes and schedules to minimize costs and improve delivery timelines.
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers on diesel supply while maintaining cost and quality.
- Overall diesel management as a function of operating cost.
- Management and appraisal of 3rd party service providers.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend ROI of capital expenses to drive operational efficiency and customer excellence (With Head of Logistics Operations).
- Monitor and driver profitability for on each truck.
- Oversee recruitment of Mobile plant Operators.
- Analyze operations data and generate reports. (Daily, weekly and monthly).
- Monitor and tracks of all assets for data driven insights.
- Monitor and Manage Turn-Around-Time (TTAT).
- Generate and monitor Logistics Trip Expense reports (With Accounts and Head of Logistics Operations).
- Manage a team of logistics coordinators (Light truck, bobtail and Bridger).
- Provide training and support to maintenance staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CILT) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- Experience in logistics planning, inventory management, and transportation is essential.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TMS) and data analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and logistics optimization techniques.
