The Role
The finance manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction towards achievement of the company’s financial objectives. He/She will be responsible for the daily supervision of operations in the finance department, as well as providing financial information to management by investigating and analyzing accounting data.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for the Finance and Accounting functions within the company in compliance with procedures, policies, and local country legislation.
- Oversee, review, and develop administrative systems, procedures, and processes to ensure they effectively and efficiently support business objectives.
- Establish collection strategies ensuring timely account receivables payments.
- Ensure cash management processes are tightly managed.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly financial reports and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Advise the operations and management team on decisions related to the company’s finances.
- Co-ordinate and manage statutory audit processes, liaise with and manage end-to-end audit processes of current systems, while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors and tax consultants.
- Prepare accurate monthly staff payroll in compliance with HR and company policy.
- Oversee the remittance of statutory deductions/returns, ensuring compliance with payments, reporting or other tax requirements.
- Manage filing of annual returns.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Identify risks on delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Train and mentor the finance staff on personal growth and development that aligns with the values of the company.
- Assist with other duties that may be assigned by the CFO from time to time.
What We’re Looking For In The Ideal Candidate
- B.Sc. Accounting or any related field
- Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA) is compulsory. MBA is an added advantage
- Professional service firm experience is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organisation to achieve results.
- Good experience leading and motivating a team for high performance.
- Entrepreneurial approach to resolutions.
- Financial advisory/ investment banking experience is a strong advantage.Treasury and commercial experience is an added advantage.
