  • We are seeking a talented Real Estate Accountant to oversee all financial transactions within our real estate firm. From managing fixed payments and variable expenses to handling budgets and reconciling bank statements, the ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, ability to spot financial gaps and a strong understanding of financial principles.

  • Responsibilities for this role include, auditing financial documents and procedures, preparing budget forecasts, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The successful candidate will provide accurate quantitative information on the financial health, liquidity, and cash flows of our real estate business.



Responsibilities




  • Manage all financial transactions within the real estate firm

  • Prepare and publish financial statements in a timely manner

  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable

  • Ensure timely bank payments and manage balance sheets

  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns

  • Report on the financial health and liquidity of the company

  • Conduct audits of financial transactions and documents

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and conduct necessary database backups

  • Comply with financial policies and regulations

  • Analyze employee expenditures and monitor company finances

  • Manage financial and accounting software used within the firm



Requirements




  • Previous work experience as an Accountant, with a focus on real estate

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures

  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Experience with general ledger functions

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Advanced certification is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Excellent organizational skills and auditing abilities
