Job Summary




  • As we continue to expand our presence in the Nigerian market, we are seeking a skilled Chinese Interpreter to support communication between our Chinese-speaking staff, stakeholders, and global teams. 

  • This role is crucial in ensuring seamless interactions and fostering positive relationships with our Chinese partners.

  • The Chinese Interpreter will be responsible for facilitating clear and effective communication between Goonite's Chinese-speaking staff and stakeholders and the rest of the global team. 

  • This includes interpreting both verbal and written communications, translating documents, and assisting with meetings, product discussions, and other key business activities. 

  • The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Chinese, with an understanding of business operations.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide accurate and professional interpretation between Goonite's Chinese-speaking staff and English-speaking team members, both verbally and in written format.

  • Interpret meetings, conference calls, video conferences, and presentations involving Chinese-speaking staff and external stakeholders.

  • Translate internal and external communications, including emails, memos, and reports, from English to Chinese and vice versa.

  • Assist with translating and localizing product documentation, user manuals, and marketing materials for Chinese stakeholders.

  • Ensure the clarity and accuracy of technical information related to Goonite's hygiene products during discussions with Chinese-speaking teams.

  • Facilitate smooth interactions between the Chinese and Nigerian team

  • Work closely with HR, production, and customer service teams to ensure all company policies, product updates, and relevant information are accurately conveyed in Chinese for the understanding of the Chinese speaking staff.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure all communication is handled professionally and ethically.

  • Monitor and report on any language or cultural barriers that may affect communication and suggest ways to improve clarity and understanding.



Required Qualifications




  • Fluency in both Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

  • Proven experience as an interpreter or translator, ideally within a corporate or business setting.

  • Strong cultural sensitivity and understanding of business etiquette in both Chinese and Western cultures.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in all translated materials and communications.

  • Ability to interpret with clarity and professionalism.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Prior experience working with cross-cultural communication is a plus.

  • Candidates must be a resident of Ibeju-lekki or be open to relocation



Preferred Skills:




  • Familiarity with the digital tools and platforms used for remote interpretation and communication.
