Job Summary:



The Janitor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of the assigned premises. This role involves maintaining all public and private areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces. The Janitor plays a crucial part in ensuring a clean and pleasant environment.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Clean and sanitize offices, classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, and break rooms.

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

  • Empty trash bins, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste.

  • Dust and wipe down furniture, surfaces, and office equipment.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners.

  • Refill and restock cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers, and other hygiene products.

  • Report any maintenance or repair needs, such as broken fixtures or leaks, to the supervisor.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals.

  • Assist in setting up and cleaning meeting rooms or event spaces.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.



Requirements:




  • SSCE or equivalent preferred.

  • Proven experience in janitorial or cleaning services.

  • Ability to use cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.) effectively.

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Working Conditions:




  • Work may involve early mornings or late evenings.
