Job Summary




  • The Vetting Officer is a due diligence officer, who authenticates the genuity of information by conducting thorough background checks, screenings, and evaluations to assess an individual's suitability for a particular role, position, or organization.



Responsibilities




  • Ensures proper vetting and background checks ofemployees of the company.

  • Ensure proper and thorough vetting of all applicant's guarantorand confirms the eligibility of the prospective employee’s guarantor.

  • Carry out the full range of checks specified in the company vetting policy, to ensure that all relevant information is obtained.

  • Conduct vetting and background checks on a commercial basis.

  • Confirms the correctness or otherwise of the information provided in the staff file.

  • Conduct verification of Certificates and awards, both Local and Internationa

  • Conduct vetting and background checks on a commercial basis.

  • Carries out criminal checks with the police

  • Present weekly vetting reports for necessary decision-making.

  • Undertakes investigation of incidences and recommends as appropriate

  • Ensures the arrest of perpetrators of criminal activities and their subsequent prosecution.

  • Liaise with the Nigerian Police Force if need be

  • Prepares weekly reports of activities on vetting and investigations.

  • Any other job assigned by the department head.



Requirements




  • HND / B.Sc Degree in any Management course or relevant studies.

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Vetting and Bankground Screening

  • Security professional certification would be an added advantage

  • Must be able to ride a bike and have a validrider's permit/driver’s license

  • Must have no criminal record

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Must possess good communication skills and ability to manage people effectively

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suites, MS Word, MS Excel

  • Must be disciplined and have a keen eyes for details.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets.

  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to listen to others.

  • Able to produce concise, accurate reports.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Must have a good knowledge of road network.
