Role Description

The Public Health Expert (Covid-19) will support the organization in providing technical expertise in collaboration with the Nigerian Government and partners to address sub-optimal management of COVID-19 vaccination programmes, lack of integration of the same with already existing platforms and suboptimal leveraging of platforms like the emergency operations centre (EOC) and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) to support the COVID-19 vaccination process. This is a consultancy for a proposal the organization is working on.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in medicine, public health, health system management, epidemiology, or related field.


• At least 5 years of professional experience n the health sector, including in developing countries; preferably including at least two years gained in the review or audit of health-related grant programs in the non-profit/public sector in developing countries.


• Nigerian-based with experience providing technical assistance to the Federal and State governments on COVID-19 vaccine deployment: planning, strategy and coordination; service delivery; risk communication and demand creation; supervision; financial management; and logistics (applicants should select at least one).


• Relationship with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency


• Understanding of the NPHCDA SCALES 2.0 Strategy and the FG Vaccine Deployment Strategy.


• Understanding of current in-country immunization and vaccination structures and systems.


• Report-writing skills in English.


• Proficiency in MS Office programs.


• Ability to demonstrate accountability and integrity.
