Summary




  • The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the pharmacy, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the pharmacy's financial health. 

  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles.



Responsibilities




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Manage inventory records and ensure accurate valuation.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.

  • Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory filings.

  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices.

  • Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.

  • Resolve discrepancies and address vendor/customer inquiries.

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate valuation

  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor budget performance and identify variances.

  • Track and manage the cost of goods sold.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Handle payroll tax filings and reporting.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a retail or healthcare setting.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented and organized.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of local tax laws.
