The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the pharmacy, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the pharmacy's financial health.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Manage inventory records and ensure accurate valuation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory filings.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices.
Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
Resolve discrepancies and address vendor/customer inquiries.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate valuation
Identify and address inventory discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and identify variances.
Track and manage the cost of goods sold.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Handle payroll tax filings and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a retail or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
