A construction Stores / Site clerk is responsible for managing administrative tasks on a construction site, including maintaining detailed records of personnel timekeeping, material deliveries, safety compliance, and overall site documentation, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with project plans and regulations by assisting the site management team.
Responsibilities
Procurement of site material and reporting to Head Office for the accounts-related activities performed on site.
Report accurate quantities of materials on site and in the head office.
Inspection of deliveries where possible.
Daily monitoring of attendance on site.
Assist in managing inventory controls.
Assist in displaying products and materials in an easy-to-locate manner.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Tracking employee hours worked on site using timekeeping systems.
Distributing timesheets to workers and ensuring accurate completion.
Monitoring overtime and labor costs.
Managing site communication, including coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.
Assisting with permit applications and other administrative tasks.
Ordering office supplies and maintaining site facilities.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess an HND / BSc in relevant fields with 7 years of work experience.
Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage large volumes of paperwork and data accurately.
Attention to detail: Meticulous in recording information and identifying discrepancies.
Computer proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication skills: Effective communication with site personnel, contractors, and project managers.
Basic understanding of construction practices: Knowledge of construction terminology and project phases.
