Job Description
Responsibilities
Shipping Coordination:
- Plan and manage the shipment of goods based on customer orders and business requirements.
- Ensure shipments are dispatched on time and delivered to the correct destination.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and verify shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Ensure compliance with import/export laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Logistics & Carrier Management:
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and transport providers to secure the best rates and services.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination:
- Work closely with warehouse staff to manage stock levels and order fulfillment.
- Coordinate loading and unloading of goods to minimize delays and damage.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers to optimize logistics expenses.
Problem-Solving & Risk Management:
- Address shipping issues, such as delays, damages, or lost shipments, and find solutions.
- Implement strategies to mitigate risks in the supply chain.
Reporting & Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, transactions, and expenses.
- Generate reports on shipping performance and efficiency.
