Job Description
Objective
The HSE Officer will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in factory operations, minimizing risks to personnel, property, and the environment while promoting a safety-first culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with local regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health standards, including noise, air quality, and hazardous material exposure limits.
Environmental Management
- Monitor environmental impact assessments and ensure adherence to mitigation measures.
- Oversee waste management, water usage, and pollution control processes.
Incident Management and Reporting
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and generate reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety inspections, audits, training, and incidents.
- Prepare periodic HSE performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Promote awareness of safety protocols, emergency response plans, and best practices in HSE.
- Stay updated on relevant HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including drills and simulations.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certification in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE roles within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Strong knowledge of factory operations, risk management, and local HSE regulations.

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suites
- Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
