Job Duties / Functional Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Finance Operations & Reporting:




  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements.

  • Review and reclassification of the accounting software entries for the monthly statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income, statement of financial position, and notes to the account in line with IFRS, ensuring best practice.

  • Review of statutory remittance schedules - PAYE, pension, WHT, VAT, NSITF, and ITF.

  • Organize and plan finance participation in the monthly inventory count exercise.



General Ledger Management:




  • Ensure that all general ledger accounts are maintained & reconciled.

  • Work in conjunction with the IT team to perform month-end and year-end closing processes

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions

  • General ledger review and reclassification of entries where applicable

  • Fixed assets register management & booking of monthly depreciation on the accounting software.

  • Posting of payroll journals on the accounting software.

  • Supervises inventory Reconciliation.



Treasury Management & Reconciliation:




  • Review of monthly bank reconciliation statements.

  • Reconciliation of prepaid rent & other prepaid-related schedules.

  • Supervises the reconciliation of key customers and key vendors accounts.



Accounts Payable & Receivable:




  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable reconciliation processes.

  • Manage and monitor aging reports to ensure timely receipt of payments.

  • Monitoring GIT to ensure shipment delivery within the lead time.



Budgeting & Forecasting:




  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Assist in monitoring budget performance and reporting variances.



Internal Controls & Compliance:




  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with all financial policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and implement audit recommendations.

  • Assist with periodic and year-end audit requirements for Statutory audit



System & Process Improvement:




  • Participate in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy



Other Duties:




  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting processes.

  • Provide support to the finance team on ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems.

  • Other responsibilities may be laid down by the CFO or as determined by management.



Requirement




  • Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree with 5 - 10 years relevant work experience.
