We are currently recruiting for the role of a GIS SUPERVISOR who will be responsible in managing the Geographic Information System (GIS) within the palm plantation, ensuring accurate data collection, spatial analysis, and mapping to support plantation management, land use planning, and operational efficiency. The role involves overseeing GIS staff, maintaining geospatial databases, and providing spatial insights to optimize plantation productivity and sustainability.
Location :Owo (Ondo State)
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS, preferably in agriculture or plantation management.
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), remote sensing, and GPS technology.
- Strong knowledge of spatial analysis, cartography, and database management.
- Experience with drone mapping, LiDAR, or satellite imagery interpretation.
- Proficiency in GIS programming languages (Python, SQL) is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Fieldwork in plantation areas, combined with office-based GIS analysis.
- Use of GPS equipment, drones, and GIS software for data collection and mapping.
- Regular interaction with field teams, agronomists, and management.
