Job Description / Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the farm, including feeding schedules, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of poultry production, including breeding, and management of layer flocks.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize farm efficiency and biosecurity.
- Hire, train, and supervise farm workers, ensuring they follow all farm protocols and safety procedures.
- Oversee the care and management of poultry, including feeding, watering, monitoring birds health and addressing any potential disease outbreaks or biosecurity risks.
- Monitor the growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and overall health of the flock.
- Ensure proper vaccination and medication schedules are followed.
- Hire, train, and supervise farm workers, ensuring they follow all farm protocols and safety procedures.
- Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor the performance of farm staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to address issues, provide training, and ensure effective communication.
- Analyze production costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of farm facilities, equipment, and processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture,Veterinary science, Animal Science, or any other related field
- Extensive 6 - 10 years of experience in chick brooding, Egg production, and other poultry-related fields
- Problem-solving orientated, logical and Sophisticated reasoning
- Ability to budget and maintain accurate financial records and also able to work and produce results within a stipulated time
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
