Job Purpose




  • Ensure the achievement of the lab turnover target

  • Ensure the gross profit is achieved

  • Perform histopathological evaluations of animal tissues derived from preclinical and clinical studies

  • Interpret pathology findings and provide accurate and timely reports, contributing to decision-making processes related to drug development and product registration.

  • Collaborate with research and development teams to design and implement preclinical and clinical studies, ensuring appropriate collection and preservation of tissue specimens for pathological evaluation.

  • Contribute to study protocols, data analysis plans, and study reports, providing expert guidance on pathology-related aspects.

  • Participate in study data reviews, data interpretation, and discussions with cross-functional teams to support the development of products.



Roles and Responsibilities




  • Perform microbial isolation and identification procedures to detect and classify microorganisms present in various samples.

  • Conduct hygiene audits in hatcheries and farms to assess and improve cleanliness and sanitary practices.

  • Carry out water microbiology analysis to evaluate the microbial quality of water sources.

  • Perform antibiotic sensitivity testing to determine the susceptibility of microorganisms to different antibiotics.

  • Provide professional consultation and guidance to farms and walk-in clients on microbiology-related issues, offering recommendations and solutions to improve overall processes.

  • Conduct vaccine potency testing to ensure the effectiveness of vaccines used in the industry.

  • Perform microbial analysis of feeds and raw materials to assess their microbiological quality and potential risks.

  • Implement seromonitoring programs to monitor and evaluate the presence and spread of specific antibodies in animal populations.

  • Conduct regular farm visitations to assess microbiological practices, identify areas for improvement, and provide on-site assistance and guidance.

  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE rules and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

  • Perform laboratory analysis accurately and efficiently, and ensure timely dispatch of results to relevant stakeholders.

  • Strive for 100% customer satisfaction by addressing queries, providing exceptional service, and delivering reliable and accurate microbiological information



Qualifications




  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.

  • Residency training in veterinary pathology and board certification by a recognized veterinary pathology board

  • Experience in veterinary pathology, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in veterinary pathology is desired for this role.



Required Skills and Competencies:




  • Strong knowledge and expertise in histopathology, cytology, and other diagnostic techniques used in veterinary pathology.

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and GLP standards related to preclinical and clinical studies in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proficient in the interpretation and reporting of pathology findings

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities to completion with tight timelines
