Position Overview



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICU Technician to join our critical care team in Enugu, Nigeria. This vital role ensures the efficient operation of our Intensive Care Unit by overseeing the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of life-saving equipment.



The successful candidate will also play a leadership role in technical training and staff education, contributing significantly to the overall quality of patient care and ICU performance.



This position is open to both local and international candidates, with full relocation assistance provided for expatriates to ensure a seamless transition.



Key Responsibilities




  • Operate, manage, and maintain critical ICU equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, and life-support systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to reduce equipment downtime during critical interventions.

  • Develop and implement structured training programs for ICU staff on equipment use, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance.

  • Ensure all ICU equipment complies with safety standards, hospital protocols, and national healthcare regulations.

  • Collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide real-time technical support during patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including service logs, incident reports, and maintenance schedules.

  • Provide immediate technical support during emergencies and high-pressure scenarios.

  • Keep abreast of developments in critical care technology and lead education initiatives for staff on new systems.

  • Monitor staff competency in equipment usage and support performance improvement initiatives where needed.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Proven experience managing and maintaining ICU or critical care equipment.

  • Strong technical training background, with the ability to create and deliver educational content for clinical staff.

  • Experience in high-pressure healthcare settings is highly desirable.

  • A nursing background with ICU patient care experience is an added advantage but not mandatory.

  • Solid understanding of biomedical systems and ICU technologies.
