Job Description
Role Objective
- To oversee the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance.
- The Finance Manager will also be instrumental in implementing financial best practices, providing strategic recommendations, and managing the organization’s financial risks.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans in alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide financial insights and advice to the MD / CEO to support decision-making.
- Analyze market trends, costs, pricing, margins, and company performance to support business growth.
Accounting & Reporting:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely statutory reporting, including VAT, PAYE, and company tax filings in compliance with Nigerian laws.
Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure audit readiness at all times.
System & Software Management:
- Utilize SAGE Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant platforms to streamline financial operations.
- Monitor system upgrades and troubleshoot issues with accounting tools and databases.
- Drive process automation and digitization of financial workflows for efficiency.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
- Manage foreign exchange (FX) and import-related transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
- Oversee inventory valuation, cost control, and reconciliation of imported goods.
Requirements
- 4 – 5 years' experience in a finance/accounting role, preferably in FMCG, logistics, or trading environments.
- ICAN Certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in SAGE, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software is essential.
- Sound understanding of Nigerian financial regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must reside within proximity to Ikate, Lagos or be willing to relocate.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
