Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Cost Estimating and Budgeting:
Contract Management:
- Administer contracts, ensure compliance with terms and conditions, and manage variations, claims, and disputes.
- Support in the selection and appointment of contractors and subcontractors.
Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with budgets.
- Identify cost overruns and propose corrective actions.
Procurement and Tendering:
- Develop procurement strategies and prepare tender documentation.
- Evaluate bids and provide recommendations for contract awards.
Measurement and Valuation:
- Undertake quantity take-offs, valuations of work in progress, and final account settlements.
Reporting and Forecasting:
- Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and risk analyses for management and stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors or cost engineers.
- Ensure adherence to professional standards and company policies.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective delivery of projects.
Qualifications
- A recognized degree in Quantity surveying / Construction Economics / Construction Management or equivalent.
- Minimum of 15 years post qualification experience out of which at least 5 years should have been spent in the Oil and Gas Sector.
- Shall be a member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
