Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Port & Terminal Operations Manager to oversee and optimise our logistics operations.
- The Operations Manager will play a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing costs.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all aspects of Port & Terminal operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts, ensure compliance, and optimize service levels and costs.
- Evaluate vendor performance and take corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards
- Streamline the supply chain by analyzing and optimizing transportation routes, warehouse layout, and inventory levels to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turnover, and other relevant metrics to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and international regulations related to Port&Terminal Operations, transportation, and supply chain management.
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, monitoring expenses, analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the Port & Terminal Operations Industry operations to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and industry standards to continuously improve Port & Terminal Operations Industryprocesses and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar managerial role within the logistics or Maritime or supply chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Proficiency in using operations and inventory management software and tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize operations and address challenges effectively.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to logistics and supply chain management.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in operations.
- A proactive approach with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
