Job Description



The Unit Head, Technical Data, Spare parts, and vendor Services Management, will be responsible for enhancing work productivity and quality through effective document management across all stakeholders. This role also involves overseeing the management of all work orders related to spare parts procurement and vendor services.



Key Duties and Responsibilities




  • Participate in the preparation of maintenance guidelines and strategy 

  • CMMS management in liaison with ICT (TM/PM/Procurement/Stores Inventory) 

  • Comprehensive management of work orders requiring spares and vendor services 

  • Analyse work orders and execute follow-up actions periodically.

  • Tracking purchase requisitions from maintenance departments

  • Backlog management to close out on outstanding work orders and track re-order levels.

  • Ensure proper management of all maintenance data in conjunction with the relevant department 

  • Review and action periodic spare-requiring work orders status reports

  • Uses a computerised maintenance management system to maintain and control the work order system's spare parts inventory.

  • Coordinate the development & maintenance of spare parts records and documentation of engineering drawings.

  • Coordinate the development and update of records and registers for maintenance activities, power assets and inventory. 

  • Coordination with Procurement & Stores for Inventory control and planning, spare parts cost reduction strategy to ensure cost efficiency and bring about cost reduction in the plant.

  • Develop and review maintenance processes, policies and plans

  • Assist in the departmental development, implementation, and management of comprehensive planning, forecasting, and budgeting systems.

  • Ensure adherence to safety, environment, energy conservation, efficiency and regulatory laws to enhance the life of machines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Maintenance Planning.



Education & Work Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Engineering

  • A postgraduate degree or a relevant professional qualification is an added advantage

  • Minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience in maintenance of power plant operations, at least three of which must be in a supervisory role.
