Job Description
SUMMARY
As a Bookkeeper/Accountant, you will support the finance team in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. You will work closely with senior team members and be exposed to various aspects of accounting within the hospitality sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Ensure accuracy of financial data and perform regular audits
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports
- Help maintain accurate ledgers and ensure timely posting of journal entries
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Provide support during the year-end audit process
- Maintain and update accounting files and documentation as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a similar Restaurant Company, in an an Accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of hospitality accounting practices is a plus
