Job Summary
- Responsible for overseeing the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization.
- This role involves financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, risk management, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial decision-making and long-term business sustainability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce strong internal controls to prevent fraud and financial risks
- Manage financial audits and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain accurate financial records and statutory filings
- Develop and oversee the company’s budget and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget variances and cost control measures
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for business growth
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the CFO on the activities of the department.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory financial standards
- Oversee financial governance policies and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience with at least three (3) years in a senior managerial position.
Skills and Competencies:
- Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislations relating to the salt and seasoning manufacturing industry
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning and analysis.
- Advanced financial and accounting knowledge, including understanding of finance best practices and IFRS/ international accounting and financial reporting standards
- Very sound business acumen – financial and commercial knowledge.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Working knowledge of SAP
