We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Officer to manage and control our construction materials, tools, and equipment.
The Inventory Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and preventing losses.
This role is crucial for the efficient operation of our construction projects and requires strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory items, including quantities, specifications, and locations.
Implement and manage inventory control systems and procedures.
Receive and inspect incoming materials, tools, and equipment, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Organize and store inventory in a systematic and accessible manner within warehouses, storage areas, and project sites.
Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with inventory records.
Monitor stock levels and proactively identify potential shortages or surpluses.
Prepare and process requisitions for materials and supplies as needed.
Track the movement of inventory between storage locations and project sites.
Identify and report any damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory.
Assist in the preparation of inventory reports for management.
Collaborate with procurement, project management, and other departments to ensure efficient material flow.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to inventory management.
Utilize inventory management software and tools effectively.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably within the construction industry
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment.
