About the job
- We are seeking a qualified and motivated ICT Teacher to join our secondary school team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging ICT lessons in line with both the British (Key Stages 3–5, including IGCSE and A-Level) and Nigerian (JSCE and SSCE/WAEC/NECO) curricula. The teacher will inspire students to develop digital literacy, computational thinking, and practical tech skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ICT lessons to students in Key Stages 3 to 5, and Junior and Senior Secondary levels.
- Teach a range of topics such as digital literacy, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, programming (e.g., Python, HTML/CSS, Java), computer systems, networks, and ICT in society.
- Prepare students for national (WAEC/NECO) and international (IGCSE/A-Level) examinations.
- Design lesson plans and schemes of work that align with both the British and Nigerian curricula.
- Use innovative teaching methods and digital tools to support diverse learning styles.
- Monitor, assess, and report on students’ progress using appropriate assessment tools.
- Provide academic support and guidance to help students reach their full potential.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and resourceful ICT learning environment.
- Organize ICT-related extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, digital competitions, or tech fairs.
- Support school-wide technology initiatives and cross-curricular ICT integration.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and advancements in educational technology.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, ICT, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., TRCN certification, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching ICT at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of both British (Cambridge/Edexcel) and Nigerian curricula.
- Proficient in educational software, programming languages, and online learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for technology, education, and continuous professional development.
