Role Overview




  • The Business Development Executive (BDE) would be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships, and closing deals. 

  • This is a feet on the ground role ideal for a self starter who thrives in ambiguity and loves building something from scratch.



Key Responsibilities

Market & Account Research:




  • Map target industries, segments, and high value accounts.

  • Profile key decision makers and buying committees



Prospecting & Lead Generation:




  • Execute outbound campaigns (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn).

  • Qualify inbound leads and referrals



Consultative Sales:




  • Run discovery calls to uncover business pain points and objectives.

  • Craft and deliver tailored presentations, demos, or proposals



Negotiation & Closing:




  • Draft scopes of work, pricing proposals, and service level agreements.

  • Negotiate terms to balance client satisfaction with company margins



Pipeline Management & Forecasting:




  • Maintain a disciplined CRM (or spreadsheet) with deal stages, close deals, and win probabilities.

  • Report weekly/monthly on KPIs (leads, proposals, conversion rates, average deal size)



Cross Functional Handoff:




  • Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure seamless project kick offs.

  • Gather post sale feedback and referrals



Continuous Improvement:




  • Analyze win/loss data to refine messaging and targeting.

  • Suggest new service packages or pricing models based on market feedback



Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of B2B sales or business development experience in a HR Consulting Industry.

  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing new accounts.

  • Strong CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Consultative selling mindset and ability to navigate multi stakeholder deals

  • Self motivated, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Existing network of relevant buyers (e.g HR leaders, corporate marketing teams.)

  • Familiarity with offering services in HR consulting

  • Data driven: comfortable tracking metrics and running basic analyses

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: hands on, proactive, and willing to wear multiple hats.



Other Requirements:




  • Work schedule: Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm

  • Work Mode: Full time remote but candidates should be based in Lagos.
