Job Summary
- The primary purpose of this role is to support the Programme Manager, Gender and Peacebuilding, in designing and implementing gender and peacebuilding initiatives across GPD’s operational states.
- The Officer will play a key role in promoting gender equality within peacebuilding efforts by collaborating with stakeholders to develop strategies and implement programs that foster inclusivity, equity, and sustainable peace at the state level.
Description of Work
- Work closely with the Program Manager, Gender and Peacebuilding, to support project design and proposal development
- Support the development of project-specific work plans and results framework
- Conduct a desk review of gender and security issues in the state, including the development of context briefing notes
- Search and flag up calls for proposals on gender, security, and Peacebuilding
- Support M&E staff on the development of project indicators and data collection tools
- Provide technical support on mainstreaming gender and social inclusion into program activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: B.Sc Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, Gender/Women Studies, International Development, or a related social science field is required
- Proven experience (4 years) in implementing gender-focused projects within peace-building, preferably in a national or international organization.
- Strong understanding of gender dynamics, intersectionality, and human rights frameworks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies.
- Commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusion, and social justice.
- Experience in the area of gender mainstreaming and peacebuilding is an asset
- Experience in Protection/Gender-Based Violence tracking, referral, and response is required
- Experience in donor reporting and capacity building is an asset.
