Job Description

Role Purpose

  • As the Senior Product Manager for Offline Lending, you will own the vision, strategy, and end-to-end delivery of personal and self-employed loan products in Nigeria’s offline market. You’ll drive Renmoney’s mission of financial inclusion by creating customer-centric credit solutions for under-served segments, such as micro-entrepreneurs and salaried workers, through offline channels like field agents and branches. Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution, you’ll translate market insights and field intelligence into impactful products that grow Renmoney’s offline lending portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Product Strategy & Vision: Define and own the product roadmap for offline personal and self-employed loans, aligning with Renmoney’s goal of accessible finance. Identify market opportunities and competitive differentiators for under-banked segments, crafting a compelling strategy to drive portfolio growth.

  •  Customer-Centric Design: Act as the voice of the customer by conducting field research (interviews, focus groups, surveys) to understand borrower needs, especially for informal entrepreneurs. Collaborate with UX and operations teams to design intuitive, compliant loan products.

  •  Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the product development cycle from ideation to launch and optimization. Draft requirements, prioritize features, and drive Agile execution, iterating based on performance data and customer feedback.

  •  Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Credit/Risk, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to deliver scalable, compliant products. Align features with Nigeria’s regulatory requirements and Renmoney’s risk policies.

  •  Sales & Field Partnership: Work closely with sales and field teams to translate on-the-ground insights into product enhancements. Support customer acquisition and agent training to ensure product-market fit.

  •  Data-Driven Decisions: Define and track KPIs (e.g., loan approval rate, portfolio yield, repayment rates, customer acquisition cost). Use analytics to optimize products and report performance to stakeholders.

  •  Agile Execution: Drive Agile processes (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), manage the product backlog, and remove blockers. Balance strategic planning with hands-on sprint deliverables.

  •  Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior product managers and lead a product delivery squad, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years in lending or financial services, ideally in offline or branch-based channels.

  • Proven track record of delivering and scaling lending products in complex markets, preferably for under-banked segments (e.g., SMEs, micro-entrepreneurs).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s credit ecosystem, offline lending landscape, and alternative credit data for informal borrowers.

  • Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management, and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).

  • Strong analytical skills to break down complex problems and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and leadership to align cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority.

  • Familiarity with sales/CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to drive adoption.

  • Passionate about financial inclusion, customer advocacy, and innovation. Proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Requirements

  • A passionate and experienced product leader with a minimum of 5 years in financial services product management, ideally focused on lending products.

  • A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of lending products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements in the Nigerian financial landscape (MBA or advanced degree a plus).

  • A data whiz with a knack for translating insights into actionable product strategies.

  • A natural collaborator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across teams.

  • A customer champion with a dedication to delivering exceptional loan experiences for both salaried workers and self-employed individuals.

  • Adept in product management tools and software.
