Job Summary




  • The ideal candidate is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Accounts Department. 

  • This role oversees the Accounts and Internal Control units, ensuring sound financial management, internal compliance, and timely reporting to management. 

  • The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical skills to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.



Responsibilities




  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in line with statutory requirements and internal timelines.

  • Lead the budgeting process, monitor variances, and provide financial forecasts to guide strategic planning and operational decisions.

  • Supervise daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.

  • Oversee internal audits, coordinate external audit exercises, and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and recommendations.

  • Provide financial insights and performance analysis to management for effective business decision-making.

  • Ensure tax compliance, regulatory filings, and maintain effective relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

  • Lead, manage, and develop the finance and internal control teams by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and facilitating continuous improvement.



Requirements




  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance/accounting leadership role.

  • Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • High integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in ERP and accounting software such as Sage and Microsoft Excel.
