The ideal candidate is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Accounts Department.
This role oversees the Accounts and Internal Control units, ensuring sound financial management, internal compliance, and timely reporting to management.
The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical skills to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.
Responsibilities
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in line with statutory requirements and internal timelines.
Lead the budgeting process, monitor variances, and provide financial forecasts to guide strategic planning and operational decisions.
Supervise daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
Oversee internal audits, coordinate external audit exercises, and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
Provide financial insights and performance analysis to management for effective business decision-making.
Ensure tax compliance, regulatory filings, and maintain effective relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
Lead, manage, and develop the finance and internal control teams by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and facilitating continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance/accounting leadership role.
Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
High integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Proficient in ERP and accounting software such as Sage and Microsoft Excel.
