KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Frontline Coaching & Engagement




  • Provide daily coaching to workers to reinforce safe behaviours and compliance with site HSE policies.

  • Deliver and participate in toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and pretask briefings.

  • Support Life-Saving Rules awareness and compliance.



Field HSE Support




  • Monitor implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and LOD1

  • Start Work Checks.

  • Conduct behavioural observations, report unsafe acts/conditions, and intervene to STOP WORK when required.

  • Participate in HSE inspections, audits, drills, and safety campaigns.



Onboarding & Training




  • Assist in HSE induction for new and returning workers and site-specific onboarding.

  • Support the delivery of HSE awareness sessions and task-specific safety training.



Performance Monitoring & Reporting




  • Spend the majority of time onsite monitoring operations, identifying trends, and coaching workers and supervisors.

  • Provide daily feedback and reports to the HSE Officer on unsafe acts (UA), unsafe conditions (UC), and site observations.

  • Assist the HSE Officer in incident reporting and follow-up on corrective actions.



Collaboration & Compliance




  • Maintain close coordination with the HSE Officer and Project HSE Lead for alignment with company standards and guidance.

  • Support review of work packs, JHA, and inputs to the PTW system.

  • Promote and support use of tools such as TRIC, TBT, HAZID, and other HSE frameworks.



EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS




  • University degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Sciences, or a technical HSSE-related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on site-based HSE experience in fabrication, construction, or industrial projects within the EP industry.

  • Experience in behavioural-based safety, hazard observation, and frontline worker coaching.

  • Knowledge of hazard identification and risk control in high-risk industrial settings.

  • Skilled in Safe Systems of Work (JHA, PTW, TBT).

  • Familiar with HEMP, IOGP, Shell SEAM Framework, and local Nigerian safety laws and permits.

  • Competent in basic report writing and use of observation tools.

  • Learner mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Strong communicator with an ability to engage and influence site personnel.

  • Passionate about Safety Excellence (SE) and promoting a Goal Zero culture.

  • Culturally aware and capable of working in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Committed to Enterprise First thinking and effective business partnering.
