KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



HSE Leadership & Culture




  • Drive implementation of the “One Team, One Yard” HSSE strategy.

  • Foster a compliance and safety-first culture through visible leadership, coaching, and engagement with site personnel.

  • Constructively challenge unsafe acts or conditions and intervene when necessary to stop work.

  • Worksite Monitoring & Support

  • Spend significant time onsite, actively monitoring activities and coaching contractor personnel to improve HSE performance.

  • Support execution of project safety initiatives including CSSS, LOD1

  • Start Work Checks, TRIC reviews, and Toolbox Talks.



Project HSE Plan Execution




  • Implement and monitor the Project HSE Plan at the fabrication yard.

  • Support delivery of HSE onboarding, induction, and awareness trainings for all site personnel.



Incident & Performance Management




  • Ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents; track and follow through on recommendation closeouts.

  • Collate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE performancereports based on key indicators.



Contractor Engagement




  • Participate in contractor planning meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety walks.

  • Provide onsite coaching and mentoring to contractors to align with project HSE expectations.

  • Participate in HAZIDs, SIMOPS workshops, and HEMP studies.



Compliance & Best Practices




  • Ensure implementation of IOGP 577 and Shell SEAM Framework.

  • Support Work Pack, JHA, and PTW reviews and ensure alignment with project safety requirements.

  • Assist with drills, audits, campaigns, and ad hoc HSE tasks/projects.



MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant HSSE discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational

  • Safety/Project HSE Management within the EP industry, preferably in project execution or fabrication yard settings.

  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian safety regulations and permits.

  • Proficient in HSE tools and methodologies: JSA, PTW, TBT,

  • HAZID, Bowties, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation.

  • Experience in managing HSE within major capital projects or fabrication yards.

  • Learner mindset and continuous improvement orientation.

  • Strong communicator with proactive stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, solve problems, and promote safe systems of work.

  • Passion and drive for achieving Safety Excellence (SE).

  • Effective team player with cultural awareness and a strong sense of enterprise first.
