The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, overseeing billing and invoicing, and providing financial insights to support business operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar industry.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and company ledgers.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing clients and following up on payments.
Track cargo-related costs and revenue, including customs duties, warehousing, and freight charges.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure financial records reflect operational activities.
Support audits and liaise with external auditors when necessary.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payment of relevant taxes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting; experience in the cargo/logistics sector is preferred.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
