Job Summary




  • The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, overseeing billing and invoicing, and providing financial insights to support business operations. 

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar industry.



Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.

  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and company ledgers.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing clients and following up on payments.

  • Track cargo-related costs and revenue, including customs duties, warehousing, and freight charges.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure financial records reflect operational activities.

  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors when necessary.

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.

  • Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payment of relevant taxes.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting; experience in the cargo/logistics sector is preferred.

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).

  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
