Location: Bakori LGA, Katsina
About the Project
- This project,“Strengthening Community Resilience against Extremism and Violent Extremism through Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Women and Youth Associated with Violent Extremism,”will be implemented in Bakori Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria.
- It aims to address the multifaceted challenges posed by armed groups, including bandits and the Lakurawa insurgents, which have severely impacted local communities through violence, displacement, and disruption of livelihoods.
- The initiative focuses on rehabilitating and reintegrating women and youth affected by or associated with violent extremism, while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of the broader community.
- A key component of the intervention is to provide mental health and psychosocial support to affected individuals and communities to enhance their resilience and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of goods and services required for project implementation in compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
- Coordinate logistics planning to ensure timely delivery and distribution of project materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement processes, contracts, and inventories.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transport providers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and report on stock levels, usage, and replenishment needs.
- Ensure proper storage and safekeeping of project assets and materials.
- Support the organization of workshops, trainings, and field activities through effective logistical arrangements.
- Collaborate with project teams to forecast procurement and logistics needs based on project plans.
- Assist with compliance audits related to procurement and logistics.
- Provide capacity-building and guidance on procurement procedures to project staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Economics, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, tendering processes, and donor compliance.
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience working in Nigeria or similar contexts is an advantage.
