Job Summary
- The Car AC Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automotive air conditioning systems across company vehicles.
- The role involves diagnosing faults, replacing components, and ensuring optimal AC performance while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of vehicle air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose faults in car AC units, compressors, condensers, and evaporators using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Repair or replace defective components such as hoses, compressors, thermostats, and valves.
- Recharge and recover refrigerants in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Install and commission new air conditioning systems in vehicles as required.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for all AC-related work.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company safety standards.
- Support other mechanical maintenance activities when required.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Maintenance Engineer.
Key Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- Trade Test I or equivalent certification in Automotive Air Conditioning, Refrigeration.
- National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive air conditioning systems.
Skills and Behaviours:
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude in automotive AC systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and repair tools for vehicle air conditioning.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
