Job Summary




  • To maintain a clean, sterile, world-class environment that smells fresh and looks expensive, while acting as an "Ambassador" to welcome people.



Key Duties (Hygiene & Marketing)




  • The "Ambassador" Role: Speak positively in your local neighborhood, church, or market on weekends/evenings. Greet patients warmly and refer their enquiries to the head nurse/matron. You are the eyes and ears of the hospital in the environment and community.

  • Lead Generation: Report to the Manager if you know neighbors who are pregnant or sick. You will receive a commission/bonus if they register.

  • Visual Sales: Ensure the hospital entrance and reception are 5-star hotel standard. A dirty hospital loses customers. Your cleaning is directly tied to patient retention.

  • Hospitality: Serve water/tea to waiting patients with a smile. A happy patient is a happy hospital.



Core Responsibilities

Cleaning & Maintenance:




  • Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, operating theaters, consultation rooms, waiting areas, and restrooms.

  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols in all hospital areas.

  • Maintain cleanliness of medical equipment, furniture, and hospital facilities according to established standards.

  • Manage waste disposal procedures following healthcare waste management guidelines.

  • Report maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards promptly.



Patient Experience & Community Relations:




  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, provide directions, and assist with basic inquiries.

  • Maintain professional appearance and courteous communication at all times.

  • Participate in monthly community cleaning initiatives and health promotion events.

  • Generate minimum 5 new patient referrals per month through family, neighborhood, and community networks.

  • Represent the hospital positively in the community and encourage word-of-mouth referrals.



Christian Service & Professional Development:




  • Demonstrate Christ-like attitude in service delivery and interpersonal interactions.

  • Participate in staff devotions and spiritual development programs.

  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, and accountability in all duties.

  • Seek opportunities for skill improvement and professional growth.



Key Performance Indicators (KPIs - Monthly)




  • Hospital cleanliness score (minimum 95% in internal audits)

  • Infection control compliance (100% adherence to protocols)

  • Patient satisfaction with facility cleanliness (minimum 4.5/5.0)

  • New patient referrals generated (minimum 5)

  • Community outreach participation (minimum 1 event per month)

  • Attendance and punctuality record (minimum 98%)

  • Equipment and supply usage efficiency (within 10% of budget)



Person Specifications / Requirements

Essential Qualifications:




  • Minimum secondary school education (SSCE or equivalent)

  • Basic training in cleaning techniques and infection control (on-the-job training provided)

  • Previous experience in hospital or healthcare facility cleaning preferred

  • Hardworking, humble, neat appearance (uniform must be ironed)
