- This individual will drive the company’s technical strategy, ensure operational excellence across transmission and digital platforms, and lead the engineering team in delivering
- innovative, reliable, and scalable technology solutions to support the company’s content
- distribution and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement the company’s engineering and technology strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead long-term planning for broadcast, OTT, and digital media infrastructure.
- Advise senior management on emerging technologies (AI in media, cloud encoding, streaming technology, digital content protection, etc.).
- Oversee engineering budget planning, cost optimization, and vendor management.
Broadcast Engineering & Transmission Operations
- Manage end-to-end broadcast engineering operations including play-out automation, satellite uplink/downlink, RF systems, and studio engineering.
- Ensure 24/7 uptime and reliability of on-air broadcast systems (TV channels, radio channels, studios, and transmission sites).
- Oversee preventive maintenance, system upgrades, redundancy planning, and disaster recovery for broadcast infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with national/regional broadcast regulations and technical standards.
Digital Media, OTT & New Media Technologies
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of OTT platforms (live streaming, VOD, content delivery networks, app platforms).
- Drive innovation across digital content workflows, digital asset management, cloud storage, transcoding/encoding, and content security (DRM, watermarking).
- Work closely with product, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration across digital platforms (web, mobile apps, smart TV apps).
- Ensure high platform availability, low latency, and high-quality user experience across digital channels.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across broadcast operations, IT systems, digital platform engineering, and technical support.
- Build a high-performing engineering culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Champion a collaborative work environment between engineering and other departments (Editorial, Production, Digital, Commercial, etc.).
IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Oversee IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage
- Implement industry best practices for data protection, backup, and IT governance.
- Ensure full system redundancy and disaster recovery across mission-critical broadcast and digital systems.
- F. Project Management & Technical Implementation
- Lead technical projects including studio upgrades, OTT platform deployment, broadcast automation upgrades, and new channel launches.
- Prepare and review technical RFPs, vendor proposals, and contracts.
- Ensure timely execution of projects within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Broadcast Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in Media IT, broadcast engineering, or digital media technology with at least 7 years’ experience leading an engineering or IT department in a broadcast media or digital media organization.
- Strong knowledge of satellite transmission, RF systems, DSNG, teleport operations.
- Proven expertise in OTT platforms, CDN architecture, video streaming protocols, cloud platforms, and digital content pipelines.
