Job Summary




  • The Account Officer (Finance) will support the financial operations of the bank by ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions.

  • The role requires a high level of attention to detail, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.



Key Responsibilties




  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in line with accounting standards

  • Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, cash balances, and general ledger accounts

  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and management accounts

  • Process payments, invoices, and expense claims in accordance with approved procedures

  • Support budget monitoring and variance analysis

  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records

  • Assist with internal and external audit processes

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements.



Requirements & Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines

  • 2 - 4 years’ relevant experience in accounting or finance

  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) or progress toward certification is an added advantage

  • Prior experience in a microfinance bank or financial institution will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
