Job Summary
- Logistics Assistant supports the efficient movement, distribution, and tracking of goods across the supply chain.
- The role involves coordinating shipments, managing transport operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting logistics performance optimization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the transportation of goods from warehouses to customers or distribution centers.
- Plan route and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Monitor and track shipments using logistics software.
- Communicate with transporters, sales representatives and customers to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Documentation of shipments, transporter payment reconciliation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Report directly to the national logistics manager.
- Support the logistics manager with the performance and addition of effective logistics vendors /transporters.
- To coordinate drivers and ensure the implementation of our logistics processes and standards of operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, routes and international trade practices.
