Job Summary



We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating financial data, preparing insightful reports, and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.



The role also involves assessing credit and financial risks, analyzing investment opportunities, and providing data-driven insights to enhance the Microfinance Bank’s financial performance and ensure regulatory compliance.



 Key Responsibilities




  • Analyze and interpret financial statements (Income Statement, Statement of Financial Position, and Cash Flow Statement)

  • Identify trends in income, expenses, and overall profitability

  • Develop financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and investment analysis

  • Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual performance

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide business strategies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess financial impact of projects

  • Evaluate financial risks and support risk management initiatives

  • Analyze investment opportunities and provide recommendations

  • Forecast returns, risks, and market trends

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and banking regulations

  • Track economic trends, industry developments, and competitor performance

  • Support the Head of Treasury in managing and optimizing the investment portfolio

  • Provide data-driven insights to support management decisions

  • Conduct financial analysis across various business units

  • Perform any other duties as assigned



 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)




  • Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports and analyses

  • Number of actionable, data-driven recommendations delivered quarterly

  • Variance levels between projected and actual financial performance

  • Accuracy and reliability of forecasts and financial models



 Job Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage)

  • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent

  • Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within a large organization

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

  • Sound knowledge of financial modeling and data analysis tools

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
