Role Overview
- We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the oil and gas sector for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager (Chartered Accountant) to lead the finance function, ensure strong financial controls, and oversee reporting, compliance, and audit activities.
- The ideal candidate will have solid experience in audit, financial management, and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audits
- Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Oversee QuickBooks implementation, optimisation, and reporting
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
- Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Chartered Accountant (ICAN/ACCA or equivalent) – Mandatory
- Strong background in audit (internal or external)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (very important)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax, and compliance
- Experience in oil & gas / marine services is an added advantage.
