Job Summary

Based at our Uyo, Akwa Ibom office, the Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. The Accountant will support financial planning, budgeting, sales, taxation, and reporting while maintaining the integrity of financial data across construction projects and business operations.





Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and statements.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and statutory requirements.

  • Support budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare documentation for statutory and internal audits.

  • Monitor project expenses and provide cost analysis reports to project managers.

  • Maintain fixed assets register and oversee depreciation schedules.

  • Support management with financial insights and recommendations for business decisions.





Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) OR have a certificate of exemption from the NYSC.

  • Professional qualification (ICAN or equivalent) is an added advantage.

  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a construction, logistics, or service organization.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (particularly Zoho Books and MS Excel).

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory requirements.

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
