Job Summary




  • Responsible for major financial reportage of the organization.

  • This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and strategic financial planning.

  • You will prepare financial statements for the Board and other key stakeholders, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and adhere to best practices.

  • Additionally, you will play a vital role in evaluating and assessing the long-term financial risks facing our organization.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:




  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models, costing of Uniforms and related materials, and inventory

  • Prepare a variance analysis for the sake of appraisal of the termly/yearly financial performance of the organization

  • Provide financial insights on capital investments, expansion projects, and efficiency improvements.



Accounting and Reporting:




  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance

  • Prepare accurate and timely quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards

  • Track inventory levels, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules, collaborating with the operations team on physical stock Audits.



Compliance and Risk Management:




  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards

  • Manage audits and collaborate with consultants on tax filings

  • Support the Director of Finance and Supply to ensure all the above are achieved in a timely manner



Leadership:




  • Supervise account officers, provide training, and ensure process adherence

  • Negotiate with publishers to ensure cost-effective terms and timely payments



Key Requirements




  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Masters Degree in Business Administration or Finance will be an advantage

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA)

  • Proven track record in financial management within a small to medium-sized organization, where hands-on involvement is required.
