Job Summary
- Responsible for major financial reportage of the organization.
- This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and strategic financial planning.
- You will prepare financial statements for the Board and other key stakeholders, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and adhere to best practices.
- Additionally, you will play a vital role in evaluating and assessing the long-term financial risks facing our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models, costing of Uniforms and related materials, and inventory
- Prepare a variance analysis for the sake of appraisal of the termly/yearly financial performance of the organization
- Provide financial insights on capital investments, expansion projects, and efficiency improvements.
Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare accurate and timely quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards
- Track inventory levels, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules, collaborating with the operations team on physical stock Audits.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards
- Manage audits and collaborate with consultants on tax filings
- Support the Director of Finance and Supply to ensure all the above are achieved in a timely manner
Leadership:
- Supervise account officers, provide training, and ensure process adherence
- Negotiate with publishers to ensure cost-effective terms and timely payments
Key Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Masters Degree in Business Administration or Finance will be an advantage
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
- Proven track record in financial management within a small to medium-sized organization, where hands-on involvement is required.
