Job Details
- St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated ICU Nurse to join our critical care team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, monitoring patient conditions closely, and supporting life-saving interventions within the Intensive Care Unit.
- The ideal candidate must possess strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients continuously.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and oxygen therapy devices.
- Observe and record patients’ vital signs and report changes promptly to physicians.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures and critical interventions.
- Provide emergency nursing care and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Educate and support patients’ relatives regarding patient conditions and care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical nursing standards at all times.
Education & Professional Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
- Registered Midwife (RM) qualification is an added advantage
- Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council practicing license
- ICU/critical care certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years experience in ICU or critical care nursing (preferred)
- Experience with ventilator management and emergency response is an advantage
