Job Summary
- The Finisher is responsible for carrying out finishing operations on vehicle components and body parts to ensure high-quality appearance, smooth surfaces, and compliance with company production standards. The role supports final preparation of products before painting, assembly, or delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Finishing Operations
- Perform sanding, grinding, polishing, buffing, and surface preparation on vehicle components and metal parts.
- Smooth rough edges, remove imperfections, and prepare surfaces for painting or coating.
- Carry out touch-up and finishing work on fabricated and assembled parts.
- Ensure finished products meet required quality and aesthetic standards.
Production Support
- Support fabrication, welding, panel beating, and painting teams during production processes.
- Assist in correcting surface defects and imperfections before final inspection.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned finishing tasks to meet production schedules.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed finishing work for smoothness, alignment, and overall quality.
- Identify defects and carry out corrective finishing where necessary.
- Maintain consistency in finishing standards across all products.
Equipment & Tool Handling
- Operate and maintain finishing tools and equipment safely.
- Ensure proper cleaning and storage of tools after use.
- Report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Comply with company HSE policies and workshop safety regulations.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE or Trade Test Certificate.
- Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in finishing works within an automobile, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of sanding, polishing, grinding, and surface finishing techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools and finishing equipment effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work in a workshop environment.
