Responsibilities
- Managing the organisation’ s legal portfolio, instruments, and compliances.
- Responsible for overseeing the formulation and consistent implementation oforganisationalpolicies, strategies, plans, and processes to align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Overseeing all communications, IT, branding, and public relations.
- Coordinating of all functions within theorganisation, includingmaintaininga positiveorganisationalculture, staff recruitment, welfare, continuous training and development, performance appraisal, staff discipline, exit procedure, et cetera.
- Representing the organisationon internal and external matters, including negotiations, seminars, public hearings, and other events.
- Conduct regular compliance audits toidentifyand address potential issues.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance matters.
- Facilitate and support board meetings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain corporate records and documentation.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on various legal matters affecting the organization.
- Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Identifypotential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensuretimelyandaccuratereporting.
- Build andmaintainrelationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries
- Oversee vendor relationships, and other corporate services.
- Any other duties assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division and call to the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of 7 years post-call experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and legal frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership andorganisationalmanagement capability.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and relevant digital tools.
- Strong writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- High levelof attention to detail and professional integrity.
Desirable Skills:
- Strategic Communication & Planning
- Experience working within NGOs, donor-funded projects, or highly regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Boards and senior management on governance and strategic decision-making.
- Exposure toprocurement processes, contract management, and vendor compliance oversight.
