Report To: Head, Logistics  



Responsibilities




  • Coordinate end-to-end import and export clearance activities for all shipments. 

  • Liaise with customs clearing agents, shipping lines, terminal operators, and Free Zone authorities for seamless cargo processing and release. 

  • Monitor and follow up on all customs documentation and declaration processes

  • Liaise with Oil & Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA/OGZA) and other relevant Free Zone authorities for shipment approvals and compliance requirements. 

  • Coordinate shipment reception and documentation validation within the Free Zone. 

  • Ensure compliance with Free Zone operational procedures and import/export regulations. 

  • Maintain proper records of permits, approvals, and regulatory correspondence. 

  • Adhere to BESTAF Safety Management Systems regulations specific to handling Lubricant Oil, grease and plastic products, including proper labelling and storage.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to the disposal and management of waste products.

  • Work closely with procurement, sales, and finance, production and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

  • Coordinate with internal customers and warehouse team for the efficient handling of products.

  • Utilize the logistics in-house platform available and other tools to ensure seamless process and automation of redundant tasks.

  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment used for handling different types of products.



Requirement




  • A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, supply chain management, Industrial Management/Engineering, Economics, Transport management, Business Administration/Management or a related field.

  •  2 to 3 years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations management, with a proven track record of supporting and managing multiple third-party logistics (3PL) service providers to ensure efficient cargo movement, timely deliveries, and operational compliance.

  • Experience working with clearing agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities both locally and internationally, with sound knowledge of import/export documentation, customs clearance procedures Experience working in a free trade zone is an added advantage.

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA), Certified, Trade Compliance Manager (CTCM), Certified International Trade and Logistics Specialist (CITLS), Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics & Transport Professional (CLTP), or OSHA Safety Certification can be advantageous



Required Competencies:




  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Basic/intermediate knowledge of Technological tools and Microsoft office suites/packages

  • Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail in managing a variety of transactions within and outside of Africa.

  • Ability to follow and suggest improvements on existing processes for efficient supply chain and logistics operations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners.

  • Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to customs clearance bottlenecks, supplier coordination, transport operations, and internal stakeholder engagement to ensure operational efficiency, timely cargo movement, and minimal disruptions to logistics activities.
