About the Role
- We are looking for a Full-Stack Product Lead. You will own the entire lifecycle of our digital experience, bridging the gap between high-level business strategy (PM) and pixel-perfect execution (Design).
What You’ll Do
- Shape the Product Strategy: Translate business goals, editorial priorities, and user needs into clear product bets and structured six-to-eight-week shipping cycles.
- Own End-to-End Design: Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, interactive prototypes, and a scalable design system (Figma primary).
- Lead User Research & Testing: Recruit and run sessions with African business professionals, investors, and executives; synthesize insights to directly inform both product strategy and UI design.
- Design Core Platform Experiences: Build seamless experiences for content discovery, deep-dive reading, interactive reports, data dashboards, country/opportunity trackers, paywalls, and newsletter integration.
- Partner Daily with Engineering: Work in tight cycles to resolve unknowns early, iterate on designs based on technical constraints, make smart trade-offs, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Drive Growth-Oriented Features: Own the UX for personalization, search, subscriptions, data exports, and tools that support both free and premium users.
- Establish Foundational Processes: Help set the blueprint for how we discover problems, prioritize, prototype, test, and ship in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment.
What We’re Looking ForMust-Haves
- The Full-Stack Skillset: Proven experience acting as a PM + Design hybrid (either a Product Designer with strong product strategy/roadmap ownership or a Product Manager with elite UI/UX design execution).
- Figma Fluency: You are incredibly comfortable producing production-ready designs, components, and interactive prototypes daily.
- Shipped B2B/SaaS Experience: A track record of shipping digital web apps or platforms used by professionals or data-heavy industries.
- Autonomous Researcher: Ability to recruit your own users, run testing sessions, and convert raw qualitative data into immediate product iterations.
- A Strong Portfolio: Must demonstrate both strategic product thinking (the "why") and beautiful, clean visual/UI design (the "how"), specifically for content-rich or data-heavy platforms.
- Startup Mindset: Comfort working in a founder-led, fast-paced environment with ambiguity and high standards.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with market intelligence, financial data, media, or subscription platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Statista, The Information, Substack).
- A background in data visualization, interactive dashboards, or complex information design.
- Familiarity with African markets, emerging economies, or international business intelligence.
- Experience with Webflow, Framer, or basic frontend collaboration.
- Knowledge of growth design, conversion optimization, or premium paywall/subscription flows.
