Job Purpose




  • The Store Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and proper documentation of all inventory items within the hotel.

  • The role ensures adequate stock levels, proper inventory control, accountability, and compliance with company policies and procedures.



Key Responsibilities




  • Inventory Management Receive and inspect all goods delivered by vendors and ensure quality and quantity match approved purchase orders. Maintain proper records of all stock received and issued. Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate supply of operational materials at all times. Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, and monthly).

  • Stock Control Ensure all items are properly stored according to company standards and safety requirements. Prevent wastage, theft, damage, and unauthorized access to store items. Monitor expiry dates for perishable goods and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out). Report low stock levels for timely replenishment.

  • Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain accurate stock cards, bin cards, inventory registers, and store records. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review. Keep records of goods issued to departments and ensure proper authorization before release. Reconcile physical stock against system or manual inventory records.

  • Compliance & Accountability Ensure strict compliance with company procurement and inventory procedures. Verify that all items entering or leaving the store have proper documentation. Support internal audits and management stock verification exercises. Report discrepancies, shortages, or suspicious activities immediately.

  • Coordination Work closely with Procurement, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Bar, Maintenance, and Front Office departments regarding stock requirements. Liaise with suppliers during goods delivery and inspection. Ensure urgent operational requests are handled promptly.



Requirements




  • Minimum of an OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Purchasing & Supply, or related fields

  • 2 - 3 years experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or hospitality operations.

  • Knowledge of stock management procedures and inventory control systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.

  • Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
