Responsibilities




  • Negotiate and secure loads for assigned trucks to choice locations.

  • Ensure drivers deliver the right quantity of clients’ products to their required location within the given time limit

  • Ensure proper and thorough inventory is taken prior to assignment or retrieval of a truck from a driver.

  • Conduct random asset inspections and monthly accessories inspection as well as submit report on outcomes.

  • Monitor the progress of drivers and serve as their first point of contact should a problem arise

  • Conduct, in conjunction with the tracking unit, proper tracking of drivers in transit to ensure prompt and target time of delivery is achieved

  • Resolve unforeseen problems on trips as they arise ensuring appropriate resolution of these and utilise the learning to plan for future similar scenarios

  • Monitor drivers behaviour while on a journey and caution violating drivers

  • Obtain and maintain all truck licensing, registrations, insurance, emblems and permits.

  • Resolve all on-trip tickets related issues.

  • Ensure waybills and other loading documents are properly filed and submitted on time to the accounts unit.

  • Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of trucks to identify damages, dents, etc and report to the Operations Manager after getting the driver to make a statement on the identified issues.

  • Take prompt inventory of truck daily and at the site of an accident or incident using the checklist and document properly

  • Ensure prompt handling and coordination of rescue operations of company’s vehicles, personnel and goods, whenever the need arises

  • Prepare and send daily location and loading reports at the beginning and end of each day respectively

  • Prepare bi-monthly productivity reports and share with the management

  • Develop and maintain all administrative and financial records relating to location, in conjunction with the finance team

  • Manage issues relating to diversions, delays, backhauling, etc., using the terms as outlined in the company’s SOP

  • Ensure compliance at all times to regulations.

  • This includes internal policies and procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and external government regulations or clients’ policies / requirements

  • Spearhead rescue activities for trucks during incidences, off-site rescues and truck recovery.

  • This may require personal visits to sites and truck escort activities.

  • Send weekly reports of all activities, expenses, productivity, etc. on or before every Saturday of each week.



Requirements




  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 3 - 8 years experience.
